    About Me

Dani Des Roches is the designer and founder of the brand Picnicwear, recognizable by its groovy 60s/70s aesthetic, its imaginative use of vintage towels as its primary material, and it's unwavering commitment to the planet and people who make their clothing. Dani's business launched onto the scene during peak pandemic lockdown, but though it may have felt like the brand came out of nowhere, Dani had been designing behind the scenes as a sweater designer for household name brands (Urban Outfitters, Express, Kate Spade, Anthropologie etc) for the better part of a decade. Picnicwear is a brand not only noteworthy for its distinct aesthetic, but for its commitment to the planet and the people who make their clothing. Dani's entire line is focused on using 95% pre-existing materials and creating items that are at once covetable and special, but also trend-agnostic and high quality. The brand's accompanying brand pillar centers around re-imagining fashion industry standards: In addition to using existing materials, Dani pays living wages to her cottage industry network of skilled sewists. Dani's brand is summed up by its iconic phrase, "Future Vintage over future garbage.” On a consulting basis, Dani find immense joy in joining forces with other brands/designers, wherever her unique set of skills and experience can be an asset. She is most excited by work that centers around designing for a circular fashion future; especially when creative problem solving is required. She adores mentoring other like-minded small business owners and aspiring makers! The areas I am most excited to support you with: - Finding your unique design/style aesthetic - Determining your Brand Identity - Honing in on your unique upcycled designs - Creative approaches to producing your designs - Micro-scale supply-chain management - Scaling your upcyled business - Small biz entrepreneurship - Pricing your craft - So much more - Just ask... I will be honest if I don't think I can help!
