    About Me

I have been in the software development space for about fifteen years, primarily in security-related industries but later in HR solutions as well. I have been an individual contributor, a team lead, an architect, and a division lead. I have built DevOps pipelines from the ground up, and fixed and maintained pre-existing pipelines. I have authored policies for acceptable code review and put tools in place to ensure automated test coverage. I have built UML diagrams of interconnectivity and dockerfiles to get a complete, end-to-end set of microservices to run locally for integration testing. But none of that is necessarily all that relevant; what matters is that what I found most rewarding--and what I believe has been my biggest value add throughout my career--has been mentoring others. I love getting to troubleshoot issues with junior engineers, introducing them to new tools or explaining esoteric behaviors of a system so they can do more on their own going forward. I've enjoyed teaching QAs who aspired to take ownership of automated testing how to better troubleshoot their Selenium tests, and how to use some basic OOP for code re-use to make test-writing faster. A few semesters I taught an introductory Computer Science class at a university before/after my full-time job, and loved it. Recently, I've taken a break from working full-time in the software dev world to start a couple of companies; my current, more recent company is Eurydice Group, and provides website development as well as technical and software consulting. Ultimately, I've concluded that collaboration and mentoring is a greater passion for me than software development, and I hope to be able to share all of the lessons I've learned, not just a subset related to compsci.
