About Me

I am a Dog Trainer with 5+ years of experience, I've trained under multiple amazing trainers myself. I am a CGC instructor and evaluator for AKC and a graduate of Animal Behavior College and a Dunbar Academy Affiliate and graduate. I train using a balanced method for basics, intermediate, behavioral rehabilitation, reactivity, and mild to moderate aggression cases. I have been running my own business for nearly 3 years and continue my own education with online learning, seminars, and workshops. As well expanding others knowledge of their furry loved once by offering free workshops at my local library discussing pet and child safety. I discuss training necessities, tools, and canine psychology and learning theories. I love to help others learn and help expand pet handling safety and training for them to hopefully pass on. I train family dogs for family living.

How to teach your dog to focus.

Begin with your dog standing or sitting directly in front of you. Put your treat hand by your dog’s nose and bring the treat up by your face. A hungry dog will follow your hand with his eyes and look up at your face; when he does, click or say “Yes” and give the treat. Once your dog is reliably following your hand, begin giving the cue (“Focus”) just before he looks directly into your eyes. When he does, click or say “Yes” and give the treat.
