I'm a retired physician with ten years of teaching experience from elementary math to medical assisting and nursing, to university level physics and calculus as well as everything in between. I've discovered over the years that I have a natural gift for relating study material across a wide range of disciplines for all students. I have experience with special needs students to include those with dyscalculia and some members of the spectrum of autism. As for college prep, that is where I particularly excel. My knowledge and expertise brings practical knowledge that relates the importance of subjects. When a subject is relatable, it is more easily understood. Understanding brings retention. On all subjects at all levels, I bring my medical training in cognitive science. This helps students develop the skills necessary to learn difficult subjects in short periods of time. Math and science have a reputation for being difficult to master. I've found that when I reach a student, concepts become easy to understand. When a subject is properly understood, the lesson becomes unforgettable.
